Welcome to Hope Center Online
In the beginning....
The United Pentecostal Church of Redlands was founded in August of 1973.
The $15,000.00 down payment for the original Church St. building was
provided through the sacrifice of UPC members across the U. S. A. by way of
the annual Christmas for Christ Offering.
In
1985 the church membership elected the current Pastor and his wife, BJ and
Michelle Wilmoth, to lead the church. Continued growth led the church to
remodel the existing building and purchase adjoining property to utilize as
an Education Annex. The remodeled building accommodated 120 people.
Blessed growth continues
Blessed
with further growth, the church relocated to 1235 Indiana Court in the
spring of 1992. The church facilities doubled from 3500 to 7000 sq. ft. As
the congregation increased in size and exceeded the capacity of the
building, Lugonia School became a satellite campus for the Children's
Ministry.
Land Purchase
In
December 1996 the church purchased
2½ acres on the corner of Ford and Highland. A building committee was formed
and plans made for construction of a permanent church home. Monthly
sacrificial offering and prayer meetings for the construction project became
vital to the congregation. Prayer, faith, and sacrifice built our new home!
Current home of Hope Center
2004
ushered in the completion of our 15,000 sq. ft building. The building
contains a 480 seat worship center, prayer rooms, classrooms, nursery,
ministry offices, kitchen, and social hall. God's completed “Dwelling Place
for His Name” in Redlands has been appraised at $3.5-$4 million.
We realize that: "Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that
build it"
Psalms 127:1.
We give God the glory for allowing each of us the opportunity to experience
the joy of sacrificial living and giving.
